FAQs
Can I hire a sewing machine in Sydney?
Yes. You can book access to industrial and domestic sewing machines at SPF Studio in Haymarket, Sydney. Choose the Machines option when requesting your casual studio session. Machines are available to use here in the studio.
Do I need to be a professional to use the studio?
No. SPF Studio welcomes students, emerging designers and people working on their own creative projects. Casual sessions give you space to make at your own pace. If you're new to sewing or unsure which equipment suits your project, message us before booking so we can help you find the right starting point.
What equipment is available?
The studio has industrial and domestic sewing machines, overlockers, a knitting machine, cutting tables, an iron press and mannequins. The Machines option includes access to the cutting-table equipment too. Select the equipment you need in your booking request so we can check availability.
Which rate will I pay?
If you use any sewing machine, overlocker or the knitting machine, the Machines rate applies. If you only need the cutting tables, iron press or mannequins, it's the Cutting Tables rate.
What should I bring?
Bring your fabric, pattern, notions and your project. Machines are set up with basic black or white thread, and standard feet and needles are provided.
How long is a session?
A session is 3 hours: mornings run 10am to 1pm and afternoons 1pm to 4pm.
Can I hire a sewing studio for one day?
Yes. Request a full day at SPF Studio, from 10am to 4pm. A full day is two 3-hour sessions, with the full-day discount applied on your invoice. We'll confirm availability before sending a link to pay.
Can I come outside open hours?
We're open Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. Don't see a time that works? Message us, we can be flexible.
Is my booking confirmed when I send a request?
Not yet. Nothing is charged when you send a request. We'll check availability, confirm by email and send you an invoice to pay securely online.
What if I need to change or cancel?
Message us as soon as you can, and please read our studio terms and conditions before you book.

Cutting tables, iron press and mannequins. Perfect for pattern making, cutting and fittings.

Price: $65.00per 3-hour session
Industrial and domestic sewing machines, overlockers and the knitting machine, plus everything at the cutting tables.
